Our Staff

Menlo Dermatology Medical Group & Laser Center, Inc. takes pride in their highly professional and efficient staff. Each staff member is expertly trained and extremely proficient. Sherry Whitnack, R.N.

Sherry Whitnack has been a nurse since 1981. Her experience includes 11 years as a critical care nurse for the County of San Mateo. She joined Menlo Dermatology Medical Group in 2005 and has had extensive training in laser therapy. Sherry has expertise in all aspects of laser use in dermatology, as well as photodynamic therapy for correction of sun damage and sclerotherapy for treatment of leg veins.

Karen Bance

Karen Bance is a medical aesthetician who has been with Menlo Dermatology Medical Group since 1985. She offers numerous aesthetic treatments including microdermabrasion, glycolic acid peels, salicylic acid peels, Vitalize peels and photodynamic therapy. Karen also provides skin care consultation and selection and application of Youngblood mineral cosmetics.

Joan Bonwood

Joan Bonwood came to Menlo Dermatology in 2001, after working in the emergency room at Sequoia Hospital for 21 years. She is adept at helping our physicians with the management of minor injuries, and is a certified phlebotomist. Joan especially enjoys working with children and seniors. Joan assists Dr. Fullerton Stone and Dr. Bogomilsky as a medical assistant, and serves as a liaison between the doctors and patients regarding dermatologic conditions and prescriptions.

Alicia Gutierrez

Alicia Gutierrez is a certified medical assistant who worked in a premier Palo Alto internal medicine practice before joining Menlo Dermatology in 2008. She is a bilingual Spanish and English speaker. Our patients benefit from her patience, kindness, and TLC. Alicia works primarily with Dr. Hoffman, and communicates information pertaining to treatments and follow-up.

Tonisha Loften & Lynell Fort

Tonisha Lofton joined Menlo Dermatology in 2004 and Lynell Fort in 2009. Together they are the frontline for patient inquiries and appointment requests, and they keep the office running smoothly. They are knowledgeable on contracted insurance plans and referral information.

Laurie Lane & Martha Parker

Laurie Lane is a principal member of Menlo Dermatology, coming to the practice in 1985 as business manager. Martha Parker has been with Menlo Dermatology since 1995, serving as head receptionist for over 9 years before joining the business office. Either Laurie or Martha can assist patients with financial or insurance questions.
