Coolsculpting
Coolsculpting®
At Menlo Dermatology, we offer CoolSculpting®, an FDA-cleared, noninvasive fat reduction treatment utilizing advanced cryolipolysis technology to safely and effectively reduce localized adipose tissue. Our practice was the first in Menlo Park to provide CoolSculpting and has since performed over 1,000 successful treatments. Each provider undergoes advanced training through CoolSculpting University to ensure safe, consistent, and high-quality outcomes for our patients. We are the only office in Menlo Park offering the newer Elite unit, which has 2 handpieces for simultaneous use, cutting treatment session time in half. The Elite unit has specially contoured handpieces to maximize the amount of tissue treated at each session.
Coolsculpting® FAQ's
What Is CoolSculpting® Cryolipolysis?
CoolSculpting® is a clinically proven non-surgical body contouring treatment that uses controlled cooling to target and eliminate stubborn fat cells resistant to diet and exercise. The cooling process
crystallizes fat cells without harming surrounding skin or tissue. Over time, the body naturally processes and removes these cells, resulting in a more contoured appearance.
How does the CoolSculpting Procedure Work?
During the treatment, a specialized applicator delivers targeted cooling to the selected area. Patients typically experience a firm pulling sensation and intense cold that subsides as the area becomes numb. Each treatment cycle lasts approximately 35 minutes per area. No anesthesia, needles, or incisions are required.
Minimal Downtime and Recovery
CoolSculpting® requires little to no downtime, allowing patients to resume daily activities immediately after the procedure. Temporary side effects such as mild redness, numbness, tingling, or tenderness may occur but generally resolve within several days.
When to Expect Visible Results
Patients may begin to notice visible fat reduction in as little as three weeks following treatment, with optimal outcomes typically achieved between two to four months as the body gradually eliminates the
treated fat cells. Results improve over time and can continue to develop for several months post-treatment.
Are CoolSculpting® Results Permanent?
Fat cells that are eliminated through CoolSculpting® are permanently reduced and do not regenerate. Maintaining a consistent weight and healthy lifestyle will help sustain long-term results.
